We saw a black bear last night in my neighborhood when doing for a walk about 8:30pm. It was in the really old and nice section of the neighborhood with huge oak trees and lots of deep lots off of Lakeview. It was weird-an urban neighborhood in Orlando and a black bear was in the front yard of an old empty house for sale. I kept seeing the bear and thinking it was a statue. Finally, about 2 houses away I asked Maria if she saw it– and was it really a bear? The bear turned it’s head and looked at us. Maria agrees it was a bear and goes running after it to get a closer look! Maria chased it in the back yard of the house and it was so dark we never found it again.

From the description, that’s not all that is probably not all that far from my house.

No, I’m not worried about my safety. If it was really a bear I doubt it is still in the area. Even if it is, I imagine it would be just as afraid of me. I will keep the dog close by, though, just in case.

This should have been a great spring break. I would be away from my principal and my sister and her family would be in town as well since their spring break fell during the same period.

It should have been great but it sucked.

No, I don’t mean having my family over sucked. That was fine. I was hoping to do more, though.

Why didn’t I? Well, I’ve been sick.

I started getting sick midweek before spring break started. It was mostly allergies but it was starting to become a major problem. I finally went to the doctor and was told that I had a sinus infection and given medicine for it.

While I no longer sound like I’m trying to cough up a lung, I still feel blah.

I think I need another week off.

Long story short: If you downloaded WordPress 2.1.1 within the past 3-4 days, your files may include a security exploit that was added by a cracker, and you should upgrade all of your files to 2.1.2 immediately.

I actually felt better after I read that. See, I may have only upgraded to WP 2.1.1 about 4 days ago but I downloaded the upgrade the day it came out 10 days ago. So I should have a clean upgrade. I also only upgraded those files listed as being changed instead of messing with the entire upgrade.

If you are running WordPress 2.1.1 this is what is recommended

If your blog is running 2.1.1, please upgrade immediately and do a full overwrite of your old files, especially those in wp-includes. Check out your friends blogs and if any of them are running 2.1.1 drop them a note and, if you can, pitch in and help them with the upgrade.

Since I’m confident that the download I had was clean I’m not going to spend tonight fretting about it. To be on the safe side, though, I will take this step over the weekend.
