Tomorrow I’ll vote for Alan Grayson for the Democratic nominee agaisnt Ric Keller.  I think he’s the best candidate out there.  He’s definitely better than Charlie Stuart.

When I was a kid I babysat his kids from time to time.  He and his family lived two streets away from us.  I know him.  I know his family.  For Charlie Stuart, that should be enough of a reason to vote for him.  Literally.

The only mailing I’ve seen from him says “Those of us who have helped grow the Central Florida community have always chosen our elected officials because we knew them.”  In other words, I have more name recognition so you should vote for me.

Stuart also claims that he’s the only one who can beat Keller.  Why?  Because he lost to Keller.

Personally, I think that Stuart’s narrow defeat to Keller doesn’t prove only he can win this race.  It proves that any Democrat can win against Keller.  If they mount a campaign against the man.  Stuart had no money to run a campaign against Keller during the 2006 elections.  The fact that he came so close proves that people are tired of Keller and will vote for a Democratic candidate.

If any Democrat can win against Keller, why not vote for the best candidate to run against Keller?

Grayson is the best qualified candidate. He worked his way through Harvard, cleaning toilets and working as a night watchman. He started a Fortune 1000 company, on the second floor of a funeral home. He founded one of the nation’s largest law firms prosecuting war profiteers. He was Taxpayers Against Fraud’s Lawyer of the Year, and the Florida Civil Rights Association’s Humanitarian of the Year. After eight years of incompetent leadership in Washington, we need someone who knows how to get things done.

Grayson has been fighting to protect the taxpayers and the troops for years.  He’s testified before Congress four times regarding war profiteering.  He’s also won the only case against Iraq war profiteers. . . so far.  With Grayson in Congress, you can bet he’ll do more about war profiteering.

Here’s Grayson’s latest ad:

If you are a registered Democrat and you live in Florida’s 8th Congressional district I urge you to vote for Grayson tomorrow.

Last week shock jock Michael Savage lived up to his name and his occupation by saying that autism was a “fraud” and a “racket” and that 99% of autistic children were actually just brats.

Here’s what he said

Once again McCain has opened his mouth and proved that he is far from being an expert on foreign policy.

Today on the “Good Morning America” show, McCain downplayed conditions in Afghanistan.  He then went on to say

We have a lot of work to do.  It’s a very hard struggle, particularly given the situation on the Iraq-Pakistan border.

In case you don’t know how the borders are drawn in that region of the world, here’s a map I got off of Crooks and Liars.

border

Looks to me like the Iraq Pakistan border has a very large cushion named Iran.

This isn’t the first time McCain has opened his mouth and shown that he doesn’t know what he is talking about.  During a GOP debate in October 2007, McCain said

The first thing I would do is make sure that we have a missile defense system in place in Czechoslovakia and Poland, and I don’t care what his objections are to it.

On July 14, 2008, he said

I was concerned about a couple of steps that the Russian government took in the last several days. One was reducing the energy supplies to Czechoslovakia. Apparently that is in reaction to the Czech’s agreement with us concerning missile defense, and again some of the Russian now announcement they are now retargeting new targets, something they abandoned at the end of the Cold War, is also a concern.

Three months before he said that he told Don Imus that he would “work closely with Czechoslovakia and Poland and other countries.”

If he’s a foreign relations expert, McCain should know that Czechoslovakia was split into two countries January 1, 1993.  Neither is called Czechoslovakia.  Instead their names are the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

At a news conference in Jordan on March 18, 2008, McCain said

Al Qaeda is going back into Iran and is receiving training and are coming back into Iraq from Iran.

Here’s the problem with that statement:  Iran’s population is mostly Shiite Muslim.  Al Qaeda is Sunni Muslim.  Iran views The Sunni’s in Al Qaeda as a threat to their country and have worked very hard to close their borders to Al Qaeda fighters.  Iran has also accused the United State of funding, training and arming Iraqi Shiite militants.

If McCain or anyone else wants to claim that they are an expert on foreign policy, then they can’t keep making stupid mistakes like these.  They definitely shouldn’t be making them over and over and over again (I’m talking to John “Czechoslovakia is still a country” McCain).

If you want me to believe that you’re an expert on anything, you need to actually know what you’re talking about.  John McCain just continues to prove that he is no expert on foreign policy.

George Carlin died last night of heart failure. He was 71.

I never got to see Carlin perform in person. When he came to Orlando I remember having a prior obligation so I missed seeing him perform.

In 1978, Carlin ended up in a court battle in front of the Supreme Court over his “Seven Words” routine. The Supreme Court ruled that the routine was indecent, but Carlin continued to perform the routine. As a result, he was arrested several times. All of the cases were dismissed.

Here’s that routine
