Jim works as a nurse in the emergency department of one of the hospitals in Orlando.  I’m not that surprised that he got H1N1.  Thankfully, he doesn’t live with us so he hasn’t exposed us to the damn thing.  I sure as hell don’t have time to be out sick for even a day since my three person department became a one person department.

Jim is mostly over it and is hoping to be cleared to go back to work tomorrow.  I hope he is able to go back to work.  I know he’s probably going a bit stir crazy right now.

Are the vaccinations coming out over there yet? We’re expecting them soon here in the UK, and they’re predicting a rise in cases over the autumn. Though, I’d rather swine flu than to take the tamiflu, cause well, that makes you just as sick apparently.

They will be coming out in the next couple of weeks for certain groups only. Jim is a health care worker so he would get the shot but I don’t know if he needs it now that he’s had h1n1.

He doesn’t need one, if you catch the swine flu before you’re vaccinated, you can’t catch it again. He still needs a regular flu shot, though.

The vaccination for the swine flu became available in Australia today and our Health Minister is encouraging everyone over 10 to get one. I’m not sure?

    Granted, this is true.

Yes, I also read about it. Maybe your brother’ll need to repeat vaccination course after some time, but I’m glad that it is all well and none of the relatives did not suffer
