The anti-emetic that Artie was given stopped her from throwing up.  Instead she ended up with diarrhea .  Her blood tests from Wednesday also showed that her phosphorus and other items were too high.

Friday I took her back to the vet.  They kept her for the weekend.  While she was there they put her on an IV and worked to flush out her system.  According to the vet, the bloodwork from this morning showed that her protein, phosphorus, and whatnot levels had improved.

I’m going to take her back a week from Saturday to get her blood checked again.

She is spoiled rotten whenever she goes to the vet’s.  They love her there.  I’ve had many of the staff tell me that Artie is their favorite dog.  As one of the tech’s said today, Artie has never meet a stranger.  She feels like everyone is her friend.

I’m hoping she continues to do well.  They may all love her at the vet’s but it isn’t cheap having to keep taking her there.

I am sorry to hear about Artie. It can be very difficult when a family member gets ill. I remember my husband passed and then my dog of 16 years became incontinent. My heart was so broken and I didn’t want to but I had to put him down. It was the humane thing to do. He seemed so embarrassed and sad every time he had an accident. Good Luck with Artie. I need and want a new dog but haven’t been able to think about getting one. It hurt so much to let him go. Peace.
