Where were you when Obama was inaugurated?
I was at work. I had considered taking today off but I’m going to be out quite a bit in the next month so I decided to go in today. I tried not to schedule any meetings but at the last minute I had to hold a parent conference.
The parent conference ended just in time to watch the inauguration. One of the resource teachers that was at my meeting stayed to watch the inauguration. I offered the chance to stay to the parent but she had a prior appointment. My assistant principal came in just before Obama took the oath of office.
We all pulled up chairs and watched the ceremony and Obama’s speech. We marvelled at the number of people on the Mall. I’ve walked the Mall before so I know just how big an area that is. To see it full of people was impressive.
I had recorded the event just in case I missed the ceremony. I’m so glad that I was able to see it live, though. It just wouldn’t have been the same to watch it after the fact.
So, where were you when Obama was sworn in as our 44th President of the United States?

I work from home. So I turned on TV One, sat back, and watched the show. Hearing the boos the Reign of Error got was satisfying, quite satisfying.

I was at home watching it on and off. I catch myself sitting on edge with high hopes that he will turn this country around and help us blue collar workers out more than we have had in the past years. I hope that he holds true to all his words that he spoke. We need a new start in the USA I believe that he just might be the key to getting all things back on track with everything and for everyone!

I was at my cousins house watching the Innagurtaion on CNN, I totaly forgot about the time difference with Jordan so I stayed in instead of going to the gym. And I watched every bit of it very proudly!

Since technically Obama became president at noon on the 20th regardless of whether he’d said the oath or not, let’s go with the first time.

I was at home, with my three and four year old daughters. We made a really big deal out of it. I dressed them in red, white and blue outfits and got little cupcakes with American flags. We talked all about Obama, who he is, what he represents…. and then I tried my hardest to coax them to sit still throuh the speech. My four year old did pretty well… but I lost my little one right away!!!!

I was at my old office with my totally cool old boss. I dropped by because I had gotten off work early and he happened arrive at the same time so we ate lunch and watched. I too was impressed by how many people were there.

I think Obama is a average president of America. He highlighted by media only.
1/24/2009, 4:56 amLaura says:
Wow! T-Shirts, in just 4 days you’re able to tell what someone’s presidency will be like. I voted for him and I wouldn’t make a statement that he was an average, great, or awful president after only 4 days. Personally, I’m very happy with his move to close Gitmo and his freezing salaries of staff making $100+K and his promise of transparency, etc.
BTW, he’s the president. No matter who was the president, they would be “highlighted” by the media. In my lifetime I’ve never seen a president that was ignored by the media.

I was also at work. For some reason we share an office with emergency management and they were watching it to evaluate for terrorist threats. Strange, I know. But, at any rate, I was glad to be able to watch it live!

I am glad I wasn’t an unborn child at the time. The posiblity of me being murdered by a doctor would be very high. And now since Obama aproved mass murder of the unborn into law and even approved the US tax payer to finace it over seas I am very glad I am not a unborn person.

Wow, the conservative propaganda that you spew, Wayne.

I was at work and I STILL couldn’t get away from the messiah! I felt like I was in North Korea. It’ll only be a matter of time before we’ll be required to call you-know-who Dear Leader.

I was sitting in my living room. I am not a big politics person, but I knew that someday someone would ask me this very question. I figured I should be able to say that I saw it happen live. And I really did want to see it happen. I just hate the arguing and debating that politics brings. Makes me sick to my stomach!

I was at work. My work demands me to go to work on that day and hour. And although I saw the reruns on the news, I sure wish I was able to watch it live.
