Taylor Mali is a slam poet. He also taught for 9 years. While I had never heard of him before today, I had read the poem that he will perform in the video below.
Well, actually, I had seen a version of the poem that was supposedly anonymous. It turns out that Taylor Mali wrote this back in 1999. I’ve always liked the poem but I find that it is even more inspiring when performed by Taylor Mali.
