I took my dog Artie to try on coats today. It was a very discouraging trip for me.
As I wrote earlier, Artie is getting old and has lost weight so she gets cold much more easily these days. Without Artie I bought a couple of large sweaters. They didn’t fit.
Today, with Artie I tried an X-large coat and sweater. They were long enough, but didn’t fit her in the chest.
Grrr!
What she needs is something that is adjustable. Something that closes with a strap to get around that monster size chest she seems to have.
Online seems to be my best option. So far I’ve found a coat that would be perfect for $90 and a coat that might be good for between $30 and $35.
There’s no way I’m paying $90 (before taxes and shipping) for a coat for my dog. I’m leery about the other coat simply because I don’t want to get something that might not be as adjustable as I want. I also don’t want to buy something I’ll just have to send back.
Does anyone reading this have any suggestions for a good, adjustable coat that I could find online?

Good luck in finding Artie a coat. Since he is older, it is like an older person, best not to get overheated and then chilled.

True, me. But if you’d read what I wrote previously, you would know that Artie has a very, very thin coat that is almost non-existent on her belly. You would also know that she has lost a good bit of weight and has practically no internal padding. Both of these combine to make her get cold very easily. When she is cold she shivers. Her shivering expends energy which adds to her weight loss.
She’s 12 years old and I’ve never bought clothing for a dog before. Surely that will tell you that I’m not doing this to make a fashion statement but because she needs something to keep her warm.
