Artie has always had a thin coat.  She’s also practically bare on her stomach.  She may be part lab but her coat comes from her greyhound side.

Because she’s getting old and having some health concerns, she’s lost some weight.  Without the extra insulation, she shivers more which expends energy which contributes to her weight loss.

Vicious cycle.

Yesterday I went to the pet store to buy a sweater for Artie.  I had measured her so I figured I’d be good without out her with me.

I was wrong.

What I bought doesn’t fit her.  I got the large size which should fit but just doesn’t quite fit.  She’s just a bit too big in some spots for the large size, and probably too small for the X-L size.

Curse

So, now I’ll take them back. I’ll take her with me and see if the (very few) X-L size sweaters they have will fit.

It’s cold (for Florida) today, but it will be warmer tomorrow through next Tuesday.  That gives me time to figure out what to do if they don’t.  I’ve been looking on-line without much luck finding the size I need.

It’s discouraging.

Prepare for some try-on (and trying) sessions. With four dogs, we do 6 hour fitting sessions. But it can be fun.
