Florida’s District 8 Leans Democrat
According to the Congressional Quarterly, Florida’s 8th Congressional District went from “No Clear Favorite” to “Leans Democrat.”
Incumbent Ric Keller is having a tough fight this year. Just 2 years ago he beat his poorly funded rival by only 7 points. This year he barely beat his political newcomer opponent in the primary. I’ve even seen Alan Grayson signs up in yards with McCain signs.
Voter registration figures released Sunday indicates that Congressional District 8 is no longer a Republican stronghold. Two years ago there were 14,000 more registered Republicans than Democrats in this district. Now there are 9,000 more registered Democrats then Republicans. With the increase in registered Democrats and Republicans turning away from Keller, it looks like Grayson can win this district.
