Having said that, I'll give it a go: I have been told box color is very stubborn. When I went to my hairdresser with box colored hair and wanted to lighten it, I ended up getting it highlighted because she didn't think overall color, specifically on top of box color, was a good idea. I was left with the impression that it might not take or worse, spot.
