“Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.” – Douglas Adams
Future generations would have paid lives for Iraq? Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. This was over oil. Iraq had been nurtured by the sanctions that were in place. In another generation or so, Hussein would have died or be overthrown by his own people. Either that or Iran would have taken care of Iraq for us. Either way, no lives lost for us in Iraq.
Now, if you were being tongue in cheek and I didn’t get it, chalk it up to the migraine I have at the moment.
I don’t know about that oil thing, unless you mean we simply wanted to make sure the reserve was secure. We sure aren’t getting anything out of it. I think we should if we’re going to waste so much money and lives on an idealistic cause.
Samuel says:
But how much would future generations have to pay had we never lifted a finger? Lives, I tells ya!
