Wildfires throughout Florida are causing a great deal of trouble for those of us who live in this state. Hundreds have been evacuated (most in North Florida) and two interstates have had to be closed more than once due to dense smoke.
When you walk outside you can smell the smoke and the air is hazy. I’ve had headaches nearly every day since the smoke got thick in this area.
Hoped for rain has not appeared. Or if it has rained it has been too little to have much effect on the wildfires. It’s also been accompanied by lightening which means that what little storms we have had could ignite more fires without putting any existing fires out.
Today we got another fierce looking sky which produced thunder and lightening but no rain. At least, no rain where I live.
I really do wish it would rain.

We have a big monster fire burning in the north of our state as well, but its in a wild area, evacuations are smaller. My parents live north of Orlando and say it smells of smoke, the pool bottom is covered in ash. nasty.

You are a forerunner of what California might expect for the summer.

I am right there next to you, sister,
on this posting.
From St. Augustine, FL, we get smoke
from all directions but the sea
to the east which is where I am headed now
for some fresh air.
My chest is starting to rattle
like a long-time cigar smoker
and I don’t normally smoke anything
but chicken on the grill.
I enjoy your other postings as well.
