Only in Florida would you find a story about a naked man, high on crack, that was attacked by an alligator.
Yesterday, Adrian Apgar, 45, was rescued by Polk County deputies literally from the jaws of an alligator. That would be a pretty amazing story in itself but there’s more. Apgar had been smoking crack in a park near the lake where he was attacked by the alligator. After his rescue, Apgar told the deputies that he had fallen asleep on the beach around the lake when he was attacked. He didn’t say why he was naked and deputies do not know if he was on land or in the water when he was attacked. Due to his drugged state of mind, Apgar is not a reliable witness to his own attack.
Polk County deputies, responding to reports of a man crying out for help, found Apgar in chest deep water in the jaws of an alligator. It took 3 officers to free Apgar from the alligator and bring him back to shore.
Yesterday afternoon a trapper caught a 12 foot alligator that might have been the one that attacked Apgar. It was destroyed.
I’m not sure who I feel more sorry for in this story. Apgar or the alligator.

I heard about this story on the news while driving home from work. They didn’t say the part about being naken and on crack! How strange. Was the gator a she? That would be the topper.
