One of the funniest shows ever was WKRP in Cincinnati. I remember watching this show when I was just a kid. The clip below is from the shows Thanksgiving show. Even though it’s nearly 30 years later, this show is still funny. For some reason, WKRP is not out on DVD. Yet. I know I’ll be one of the first to buy a set when it finally hits DVD.

“As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.”

Happy Thanksgiving!

This is my favorite episode, ever, of any television show. Thanks!

You have a long wait; licensing issues — of the songs used, not the shows themselves — are keeping this off shelves. Another case where broken copyright law keeps us from our own culture.

I remember WKRP well. The comedy was top-notch! What a pity nothing today even comes close. In fact – I rarely watch sit-coms any more. They have become too stupid for words. You know – Gary Sandy starred in another ground-breaking show called “All That Glitters”. It was more bastard step-child of “Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman” than precursor to WKRP – still, both offered fresh, cutting-edge comedy that really made you think while you were laughing your ass off. I initially watched “All That Glitters” due to its pedigree (Norman Lear) then stayed because it was flat out good. Unfortunately – I was virtually alone in my admiration. “All That Glitters” lasted only one season – its demise making way for Sandy to sign on to WKRP – and WKRP wouldn’t have been as good without Sandy in the cast.

Thud, I was afraid that was the case.

TFLS, I didn’t know that about Gary Sandy. I will agree that the show wouldn’t have been the same with someone else playing Andy.
