If you’ve been reading awhile you know that my dog Artie had a blood hematoma on her left ear that was drained back on Halloween. Since then she’s had a pad with wire on one side on her ear to help it heal straight. The pad was supposed to be on her ear for 3 full weeks. She also wasn’t able to get a bath that entire time. Even though I’ve been using dog wipes to give her at least a partial bath, she still stinks.
Today she went back to the vet to have her ear checked. Artie was her usual, hyper self at the vets’ office. She always wants to say hi to everyone one no matter how many legs you have.
Dr. Louie said that her ear was looking great. When I asked if the stitches and pad could come off since we’re only a few days away from 3 weeks, Dr. Louie said “sure.”
So now Artie is home with the stitches and pad all removed from her ear. Her ear still looks funny because the fur had to be shaved off for the procedure and it hasn’t grown back yet. Other than that, she is fine.
Tomorrow she gets a bath at the groomers. She lets them clip her nails. She won’t let me do that.

Always good news when one of our fur kids gets a thumb’s up at the Vet’s..glad to hear her ear is healed.

“Stinks” is such a human judgment. Now Artie will have to start all over after the groomer to get the earthy smell dogs seem to prefer. Glad for the good news. Pictures?

Thanks to both. I don’t think I took any pics when she had the pad thing on her ear. I’ll take one later today after her bath. But before she starts working on that “earthy smell.”
