Reverend Henry Kane in Poltergeist II was played by the late actor Julian Beck. His character was the best thing in that movie and his Kane is creepy and scary.
Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church reminds me of the Reverend Henry Kane in Poltergeist II. Not only because he looks a bit like that character

but because he sounds like him as well.
Now Phelps has decided to take on Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert for “blasphem[ing] God and the Westboro Baptist Church. Apparently, making fun of Phelps and his goons is “satanic.” Who knew?
If you’ve noticed, not once have I addressed Phelps as Reverend or Pastor. It was intentional. As far as I’m concerned, a man who preaches nothing but hate and damnation isn’t a Reverend or Pastor. Phelps is vile and I will not give him any respect by calling him anything that indicates he is a man of God.

Chilling. He’s a caricature of himself.

How in the hell did Fred Phelps get his own TV show?
I’m sure you probably already seen the pictures proudly displayed on their website of when the Westboro Babtist Freak Show picketed the miner’s funerals in Upshur County after the Sago mine disaster. Honest to God, I don’t know how they made it out of here alive and unbeaten.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for free speech and the right of everyone to express their opinions no matter how unpopular. But these people really stretch my ideals to limit.

I, personally would not compare Phelps to Rev. Kane. Comparing Phelps to Kane could be considered an insult to Rev. Kane’s character. Also, The late Julian Beck would most likely spin in his grave if he knew that he was compared th this monster; even if it is by likeness.
