Rush Limbaugh turned himself over to authorities this afternoon in Palm Beach County, Florida.

Remember the charges brought against him back in 2003 when Rush admitted he was addicted to Oxycotin? Well it turns out that Limbaugh’s attorney and the state attorney in Palm Beach County have been fighting this one ever since then.

They have finally settled on a deal where Limbaugh is charged with a single count charge of doctor shopping which will be dismissed in 18 months.

Sweet. If I ever get into trouble I’ll have to hire Rush’s attorney. Oh, that’s right, I couldn’t afford him.

Limbaugh has also

…agreed to make a $30,000 payment to the State of Florida to defray the public cost of the investigation. The agreement also provides that he must refrain from violating the law during this 18 months, must pay $30 per month for the cost of "supervision" and comply with other similar provisions of the agreement.

I’ll admit, the man got a sweetheart of a deal. Still, you’d think he at least try to look contrite for his booking mug shot.

imagine the publicity (and cries of UNFAIR!) this story would get in the media if it was say, Howard Stern or even a much less radical, but left of center media personality… Palm Beach COunty, home of the CHADS that put Bush in the office in the first place, aye?…

and I am not even a political animal… but unfair is unfair, whichever side of the aisle it comes up on…

    don’t keep quiet Smile

We live in a world where money buys power, and freedom. It is unfortunate. The late Senator Paul Wellstone said it best. “The people of this country, not special interest big money, should be the source of all political power.”
