  1. Mike V. says:

While I am glad to NOT see my CA senators on the list, I am sad for my country.
    Again.
I’ve been sad for it too many times in the last several years..

  2. Ryan at The Higher Pie says:

I’ve been saying this all around Blogtopia today: We should really include Joe “I’ll vote against cloture ONCE but that’s it!” Biden on these lists.

    I did.

  3. Daedalus says:

The only people who wonder why the Democrats are not in power are the people on that list. I think the rest of us are clued in.

  4. Mike says:

Your Republican Senator is voting “yes” on the confirmation. Your Democratic Senator is voting “no.” If we had more Democrats, we wouldn’t NEED the filibuster.

  5. Dr. John says:

They had spine enough to stand against all the presure exerted by people like you. They probably served the Democratic party better than those that tried the filibuster. Some future Democratic President will thank God for them as he brings his candidates to the Senate.

  6. mulligan says:

Mike, I agree. If we had more Dems we wouldn’t need the filibuster. The reality is that we don’t have them and the dems we have need to stand up to Republican pressure.

Dr. John, I hardly think that voting against a filibuster and then voting against confirmation serves the Democratic party at all. The only ones it serves are Bush and the Republicans. It also proves the Repubs point that these particular Dems are weak. Again, that doesn’t help the Dems.

  7. Tom Harper says:

Sorry about my senator (Cantwell, WA) copping out. But be gentle with her. She’s almost singlehandedly kept the oil barons out of the Alaska Wildlife Refuge and kept even-larger oil tankers out of Puget Sound. We need her, imperfect as she is.

  8. JollyRoger says:

I will not give one more dime to the dems.

    I’m done.

  9. Boogala says:

Jolly Roger made it all worthwhile! One less Democratic supporter is one step closer to longer control of the Congress for us Republicans! If the Dems can continue disheartening their constituents in this way we’ll have a virtual one party system before too long! Attaboy JollyRoger!

  10. jmfausti says:

Woo Hoo! Even though that weirdo is a Jersey man, my senators were smart enough to not vote for closure. Not that it did us any good.
