I love my school.
A massage therapist comes to the elementary school twice a month. She is a glorious massage therapist and with henceforth be called GMT. She gives massages at a reduced rate to the teachers and staff.
I was able to get a massage today. For a while it looked like I wouldn’t be able to. My appointment was at 2:40 for 30 minutes so I could go home when I was finished. At 2:45, I was still waiting for a couple of parents that had told a teacher they wanted to stop by and ask me something. The teacher had called my office at about 2:15 to tell me the parents would be by in about 10 minutes. They finally came about 2:50.
Obviously I couldn’t make my 2:40 appointment. I was hoping that I would at least be able to get 15 minutes in since her next appointment was at 3:20. At 3:15 the parents that had one, quick question were finally ready to go.
Sadly, I was not going to make my appointment. However, the GMT told me that I might not be out of luck. If the teacher signed up after me couldn’t make hers, she’d see me then.
Today was the day that parents came in to pick up their children’s report cards and to talk to the teacher. The teacher who had the appointment after me had forgotten that when she signed up for a massage. She had parents in her room when it was her turn and wouldn’t be free until 6.
Sad for her, great for me. I got my massage.
Instead of a 30 minute massage, I was able to get a 45 minute massage because I was the last one of the day.
It was wonderful. My neck feels sooooo good it’s almost like my head is floating.
She’ll be back in 2 weeks. I’ll have to make sure I don’t have any meetings scheduled for at least a 30 minute block so I can get another massage.

Glad to hear it. I once needed a 1.5 hour massage to be able to stand up straight. A friend of mine charged me $45 but it was cheap compared to her regular rate because we were buds. Too much stress is no good. I think regular massage is good for you! BTW: I have Linked you! Best!!

Yay school! Maybe if the boys’ former school had done that for the 2nd grade teachers, our younger boy would still be there!

Wow. That’s some school! Maybe that should be a criteria I look for the next time I apply for a teaching position!

I am sitting here dealing with an aching back and muscle relaxants right now, thinking that every workplace of decent size should have a massage therapist coming in regularly. You are so lucky.

That’s nice. I don’t think many schools here in Cali have that option for teachers and students.

Good for you!Getting a massage every so often will help in dealing with the day to day strain of being a teacher.

Back when I used to teach, we had a parent that did this for us, but it was only a 15 minute chair massage. It still felt great, and I only wish every employer would try and get some deal where they could have a Massage Therapist come in on a regular basis.
